Dave
Dave Baker, founder of Super Screenplays (and parent company, Super Copy Editors), has two decades of experience in the media industry, including work for The Nation magazine, The New York Times, and The Times-Picayune of New Orleans, where he shared two staff Pulitzer Prizes after Hurricane Katrina.
As a copy editor, Dave has been entrusted with putting the polishing touches on articles, books, and other materials by writers from all walks of life, including filmmaker Michael Moore, talk-show host Ricki Lake, and even the band Metallica. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a concentration in writing/journalism.
Dave is a member of the American Copy Editors Society (ACES), which is dedicated to raising the standards of editing, as well as the Editorial Freelancers Association, the Freelancers Union, and MediaBistro AvantGuild.
Ellen
Ellen Tarlin, former copy chief at Slate magazine, was a copy editor at Martha Stewart Omnimedia and has freelanced for many publications since 1998, including Glamour, Vogue, and National Geographic Adventure. She has copy edited numerous books for Scholastic and marketing materials for HBO. Her undergraduate degree is in playwriting and screenwriting, and her graduate degree is in creative writing. If you write it, Ellen can edit it.
Jenna
Jenna Rohrbacher has always had a great interest in helping writers improve and polish their work. She graduated from Portland State University in 2009 with a master’s degree in writing and publishing; she also honed her editing skills at the independent publisher Ooligan Press in Portland. In her spare time, Jenna dances and teaches Argentine tango in New York.
